Assistant Teacher (El Mundo de Nino)

Hours: (Monday - Friday 8:00am - 3:00pm) (10 Months)

General Summary

The classroom assistant teacher must ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times and be alert to the needs and concerns of the children as individuals and as a group. The assistant teacher must work in collaboration with the classroom teacher, family worker, and program director to properly implement learning activities and adhere to all licensing and district requirements.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities





Responsible for maintaining a high-quality learning environment in accordance to Board of Education (BOE), Office of Licensing (OOL), and National Association of Young Children (NAEYC) requirements.
Maintain classroom equipment, curriculum materials and supplies.
Assist classroom teacher in implementing the daily program as outlined in the lesson plans and class schedule including rest and mealtimes. Maintain line-of-sight supervision throughout the school day.
Provide reinforcement of learning and social emotional skills throughout the school day.
Encourage and participate in planned parental involvement activities within the classroom/school community including but not limited to attending Back to School Night/Open Houses, parent workshops, trainings, field trips and volunteering.
Work cooperatively as a team member within the classroom, individual grade level, inter-grade levels and the entire school community.
