We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Accountant to support the day-to-day operations of our Finance team in Madrid while working closely with Corporate Headquarters in Toronto. This role is idóneo for an early-career finance professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment and is eager to develop strong accounting, financial reporting, and operational skills.

The successful candidate will assist with general accounting tasks, financial administration, payroll coordination, and reporting activities while ensuring compliance with local Spanish accounting standards, tax requirements, and IFRS reporting guidelines. The role will also support internal processes across multiple business units, jurisdictions, and currencies.

This position offers the opportunity to work within a global publicly traded organization in the esports, media, and entertainment industries, collaborating with teams across Europe and North America.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting & Financial Operations

- Support day-to-day accounting activities, including:

- Journal entries and General Ledger (GL) maintenance
- Bank and account reconciliations
- Preparation and review of expense reports and reimbursements
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable processes

- Assist with month-end and quarter-end closing procedures
- Maintain accurate accounting records in the ERP system (Oracle NetSuite preferred)
- Support intercompany transactions, foreign currency entries, and multi-entity accounting
- Assist with fixed assets, accruals, and prepayments tracking




- Ensure documentation is properly recorded and filed for audit and compliance purposes

Payroll & Tax Support

- Assist with local payroll coordination and documentation
- Support the preparation and reconciliation of tax filings and statutory reports
- Maintain records related to Seguridad Social, tax authorities, and other regulatory bodies
- Coordinate with external payroll providers and tax advisors

Financial Reporting

- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and internal management reports
- Support reporting under IFRS standards
- Prepare documentation required for quarterly and annual financial reporting
- Assist the Corporate Finance team with consolidated reporting requirements

Administrative & Operational Support

- Provide general administrative support to the Finance team
- Coordinate documentation, contracts, and financial records
- Support vendor management and payment processing
- Maintain organized documentation across shared platforms such as Microsoft Teams and internal systems
- Liaise with corporate teams in Toronto to ensure alignment on reporting and operational requirements

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support

- Work closely with internal stakeholders including finance, HR, operations,



and external advisors
- Assist with audit preparation and documentation requests
- Support initiatives that improve financial processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- 1–3 years of accounting or finance experience (entry-level roles acceptable)
- Bilingual Spanish and English (required) –ability to work in a bilingual international environment
- Strong knowledge of Spanish accounting and tax frameworks
- Understanding of IFRS reporting standards
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
- Experience working with ERP systems (Oracle NetSuite preferred)
- Familiarity with payroll processes and financial administration
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across international teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment

Will be considered a strong asset:

1. Experience working with multi-entity, multi-currency accounting environments
2. Familiarity with publicly traded company reporting environments (TSX or similar exchanges)
3. Knowledge of tools such as NetSuite, Microsoft Teams, DEEL, HUMI, or other HR/payroll systems
4. Experience in esports, media, gaming, events, marketing, or entertainment industries
5. Experience working with international teams or global HQ structures
6. Exposure to audit preparation or external auditors
