Role Overview
As Security & Compliance Manager for Spain, you are responsible for ensuring that Destinus facilities, personnel, technologies, and operations operate within a secure and compliant environment in the regulated defense sector.
You will oversee physical security, security operations, regulatory compliance, and security awareness across Spanish facilities while working closely with the global Security, IT, and Compliance teams.
Operating in the defense sector requires strict adherence to national security regulations, classified information protection requirements, and international security frameworks. In this role, you ensure that security controls are effective, regulatory obligations are met, and employees understand their responsibilities through training, awareness programs, and the development of a strong organizational security culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Physical Security & Security Operations
- Design, implement, and manage physical security programs for Destinus facilities in Spain, including production facilities, engineering environments, offices, and storage locations.
- Conduct facility security risk assessments.
- Manage CCTV, intrusion detection, and electronic access control systems.
- Coordinate Security Operations Center (SOC) monitoring.
- Manage incident response and emergency procedures.
- Investigate and report security incidents and anomalies.
- Security Guarding & Spanish Regulatory Framework
- Manage contracts with licensed security providers.
- Define operational requirements for guarding services.
- Ensure guards hold a valid TIP (Tarjeta de Identidad Competente).
- Monitor guard performance and compliance with procedures.
- Defense Security Compliance & Classified Information Protection
- Ensure compliance with Spanish defense security requirements and international defense-related security standards.
- Support compliance with Spanish regulations governing protection of classified information.
- Support compliance with security requirements defined by Spanish defense authorities.
- Support compliance with the Esquema Nacional de Seguridad (ENS) where applicable.
- Support compliance with international security standards such as ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 22301.
- Support compliance with European regulatory frameworks such as NIS2.
- Support compliance with data protection requirements under GDPR.
- Support compliance with export control and defense-related regulations.
- Support security audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory inspections, and act as a liaison with government authorities when required.
- Supply Chain & Logistics Security
- Implement secure procurement & logistics procedures.
- Monitor transportation of sensitive equipment and materials.
- Support supplier security requirements.
- Ensure alignment with export control and defense security obligations.
- Security Culture & Staff Training
- Deliver security awareness training programs.
- Conduct security drills and incident response exercises.
- Promote responsible security behaviour across teams.
- Ensure employees understand procedures for handling sensitive information and reporting security incidents.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Security Management, Risk Management, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience in corporate, military, or government security.
- Experience in defense, critical infrastructure, or other regulated security environments.
- Experience managing security operations (teams) and facility protection.
- Experience working with licensed security service providers.
- Experience implementing security awareness and training programs.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection systems.
- MS Office proficiency.
- Fluent in Spanish and English (Knock-out criterion).
