We’re partnering with a leading enterprise to recruit an experienced CICS Systems Programmer to play a pivotal role in a high-performing mainframe engineering team.

You’ll be responsible for the ongoing stability, optimisation, and evolution of a complex CICS environment, ensuring critical services remain highly available, secure, and performant.

You’ll also be heavily involved in upgrades, incident resolution, and technical change delivery, working closely with application and infrastructure teams across the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Installation, configuration,



and maintenance of CICS Transaction Server
- Support of production environments, including priority incident and out-of-hours support
- Performance tuning and optimisation of CICS systems
- Leading investigation and resolution of complex technical issues
- Planning, testing, and implementing CICS upgrades and enhancements
- Providing 2nd/3rd line support to application teams
- Managing system security, backup, and disaster recovery processes

Experience

- 5+ years hands-on experience as a CICS Systems Programmer
- Deep knowledge of z/OS
- Strong problem-solving skills in complex, enterprise-scale environments
- Confident decision-maker who thrives under pressure
