ABOUT CRAG:

CRAG is an independent research institution engaged in leading-edge basic and applied plant and farm animal sciences. CRAG is established as a Consortium of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and University of Barcelona (UB). The Center is located at the UAB Campus, and currently hosts 200 members from across the world.

The Center for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) is looking for a Lab Technician to be part of the group Epigenetics and plant development.

The candidate will be in charge of:

Providing support to different members of the group,



overseeing protocols and specific equipment (GC-MS, HPLC, among others). The candidate must have enough experience to be independent in managing techniques to be developed. All protocols and procedures are related to cell wall biochemistry. In addition, administrative skills (purchasing orders, organization of techniques) to support daily operations are required.

The tasks are included within the framework of the project “CORKSHIFT: MPR - -SIID-RCI. “Understanding the structure of cork and the effect of different industrial treatments” Companies involved: AMORIM S.A.

Research Field Biological sciences Education Level Master Degree or equivalent

Skills/Qualifications

- Biochemistry, biotechnology, biology or related.
- At least, with a master degree.
- Fluent in Catalan, Spanish and English.

Specific Requirements

Experience:

- Experience in working in a scientific group.
- Related to plant molecular biology (qPCR techniques, etc.)
- Related to cell wall biochemistry (lignin, polysaccharides characterization).
