As a seasoned Risk Assurance Manager, you provide independent 2LOD assurance over the bank's risk management framework, controls, and processes. You ensure compliance with Irish and EU regulations and report to the Director of Risk Assurance. You will design, execute, and report on assurance reviews spanning conduct, financial crime, credit, and related risks, while fostering a strong risk culture. This is a growth-supporting, transformation-ready role that helps Monzo Europe grow safely and compliantly.

• Design, plan, and execute risk assurance activities to uphold the enterprise risk framework across EU operations
• Lead thematic reviews across risk areas (conduct, compliance, financial crime, IT, prudential, strategic) to assess design and operating effectiveness
• Identify remediation opportunities, propose practical fixes, and track progress to closure
• Engage with business and risk stakeholders to understand product and risk profiles
• Contribute to annual risk assurance planning using regulatory trends and horizon scanning
• Contribute to framework governance and maintain fit-for-purpose risk assurance methodology
• Collaborate with 1LOD, Group 2LOD, and Internal Audit to maintain independent challenge




• Report thematic insights and remediation progress to senior management committees
• Promote risk and compliance awareness and training across the organisation
Responsabilidades
• Strong background in risk assurance, internal audit, or risk management within banking or fintech in the European regulatory landscape
• Proven ability to plan and execute diverse assurance activities with root-cause focus
• Experience leading reviews across ICT/Information Security, Financial/Prudential, Fraud and Financial Crime, Operational and Conduct Risk
• Deep understanding of risk and control frameworks (e.g., COSO, ISO) and applying them to 2LOD xqbhyrx oversight
• Hands-on risk and control identification and testing with attention to weaknesses
• Track record of identifying gaps and proposing high-impact solutions
• Strong analytical skills and ability to present findings clearly to stakeholders
• Data analysis and reporting capability; proficient in Google Suite; able to build decks for committees
• SQL or Python experience is a plus
