Senior Officer - Sanctions Advisory
Ebury Malaga Office - Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home per week
The Senior Officer - Sanctions Advisory is responsible for providing expert guidance and specialized support for Ebury ’s sanctions compliance framework across General. This role serves as a crucial point of escalation, ensuring that complex business transactions, client onboardings, and operational queries are fully aligned with internal risk appetite and external regulatory requirements, including OFSI,EU,US and relevant local authorities.
What you’ll do
● Sanctions Advisory & Escalations: Serve as the SME for the business and first-line defense teams. Review and adjudicate complex Level 2/Level 3 sanctions escalations, providing clear, actionable advice on proposed transactions, trade finance deals, and high-risk client onboardings.
● Regulatory Analysis & Interpretation: Continuously monitor updates and guidance from major sanctions bodies (e.g., OFAC, HM Treasury/OFSI, EU, UN). Analyze the impact of new designations, general licenses, and sectoral sanctions on Ebury's operations and advise stakeholders accordingly.
● Policy & Governance: Assist in the continuous improvement of the Group Sanctions Policy. Draft and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and advisory notes to ensure business units understand and implement sanctions requirements effectively.
