Freelance Data Engineer - Oracle to Databricks Migration - Long Term

We are seeking an experienced ADP Engineer to support the migration of a large-scale enterprise Data Warehouse from Oracle to Azure Databricks. The role focuses on automating migration activities, validating migrated code, and ensuring data integrity through comprehensive testing. You will work within a modern Azure data platform, supporting the delivery of a scalable, cloud-based analytics environment.

Responsibilities

- Design and execute automation for the migration of Data Warehouse solutions from Oracle to Azure Databricks.
- Release and deploy migrated code across development and production environments.
- Develop and execute regression testing to validate data accuracy and migration quality.
- Work with complex data warehouse environments involving data integration and orchestration.
- Design and support Data Vault and dimensional data models.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries and data processing on Oracle databases.
- Collaborate with engineering and business teams to ensure successful migration delivery.




- Support automation and scripting initiatives to improve migration efficiency.
- Contribute to documentation, testing standards, and continuous improvement activities.

Experience

- Strong experience with enterprise Data Warehouse environments and complex data integration.
- Expertise in Oracle Database, SQL, and Oracle data processing.
- Experience with Data Vault and dimensional modelling methodologies.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including Azure Databricks and cloud data platforms.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Python, and Azure automation.
- Strong focus on regression testing and data validation.
- Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), storage accounts, and virtual machine troubleshooting.
