IRB Barcelona seeks to recruit a Health and Safety Section Head, part of the People and Academic Affairs Department, to oversee its in-house Health and Safety Service and to develop a safe working environment in compliance with legal regulations, while promoting a strong culture of health and safety awareness across the institute.Responsibilities- Manage the in-house Health & Safety Service in collaboration with the external prevention service.- Draft, update and monitor Health & Safety documentation.- Organize, coordinate, and monitor risk assessments, regular site inspections, emergency procedures, and the dissemination of information to all employees.- Coordinate medical check‑ups.- Plan and monitor annual Health & Safety actions.- Monitor, investigate, and report on workplace accidents and incidents.- Liaise with relevant authorities, organize and conduct audits of the Health & Safety System.- Manage and coordinate Health & Safety training.- Provide expert advice, information,



and assessment on Health & Safety issues.- Coordinate Occupational Risk Prevention activities.- Assess and oversee the Health & Safety Committees.- Oversee the facility's biosafety management, ensuring adherence to established protocols, regulatory compliance, and promotion of a safe working environment.- Develop and maintain the Quality Management System, design and improve processes related to quality, and maintain policies, manuals, procedures, and records.RequirementsExperience: at least 5 years in the role.Knowledge- Degree in Risk Prevention, Science or related degree.- Occupational risk prevention degree or Master's degree in Occupational Risk Prevention, with all three specialisations (Security in the workplace, Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics, and Psychosociology) preferably with a scientific university degree (biology, chemistry, etc.).SkillsUser of MS Office tools. Teamwork, proactivity, client orientation. Motivated and responsible person.LanguagesHigh level of both spoken and written English.Preferred Qualifications- Experience in this sector.- Training and experience in biosafety.
