Job DetailsApply nowJob no: –Work type:Instructional Faculty - Temporary/Lecturer –Location:Fresno –Categories:Unit 3 - CFA - California Faculty Association, Temporary, Part Time.Position SummaryThe department seeks qualified candidates to teach undergraduate courses including:CSci 1 – Critical Thinking and Computer ScienceCSci 39 – Computer Science PrinciplesCSci 40 – Introduction to Programming and Problem SolvingCSci 41 – Introduction to Data StructuresCSci 60 – Foundations of Computer ScienceCSci 80 – Introduction to Computer SystemsOther classes as identified to fulfill current students’ educational goalsInstructor ResponsibilitiesTemporary faculty members are responsible for adherence to university policies, preparation and delivery of lectures, office hours, homework, quizzes, class projects, and midterm/final exams. All classes must be offered and meet on schedule in the mode assigned (asynchronous, synchronous, in‑person, or hybrid).Conditional AppointmentAppointments are contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations and subject to the ‘Order of Work’ provision of the collective bargaining agreement, giving priority to tenure‑line faculty. Applicants must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United pensationClassified under CSU Salary Schedule (Class Code 2358). For temporary faculty with a Master’s, the salary range is $5,507–6,677 per month for full‑time teaching (15 WTUs). Starting salaries are usually near the minimum. Monthly pay adjusts based on WTUs assigned per term.Anticipated SemesterThe temporary faculty pool remains open as needed.



Positions vary by semester, with availability often required on short notice. Current term schedule: Fall 2026 – August 19 to December 22, 2026;
Spring 2027 – January 15 to May 26, 2027. Appointments are temporary and may be renewed after two terms by re‑application.Required QualificationsMaster’s degree in Computer Science from an accredited institution or equivalent.Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with diverse faculty, staff, and students.Preferred QualificationsCommitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, evidenced by prior teaching experience and evaluations.Successful undergraduate teaching experience.Expertise in a closely related science or mathematics discipline.Application ProceduresReviews continue on a rolling basis as positions open.
