Overview

Airbus offers more than 70 vacancies for our full‑time graduate program in Spain – #Discover II *********. The starting date is 5th October **** and the end date is 1st October ****. We are looking for recent graduates from different disciplines who are interested in developing their professional career in the aeronautical sector. The selection process will run from April **** to July ****.

Internship Job Description

The internship starts in early October ****, lasts 11 months, is full‑time (40 h/week) and includes an attractive study grant. The program pairs a Master organized in three training blocks with an 11‑month internship at Airbus in an area related to your degree.

In partnership with Camilo José Cela University, Airbus has developed the exclusive Discover program designed for those who want the best training in new areas of knowledge that are essential for future professionals.

Tasks within the Electromagnetic Hazards (EMH) department include:

- EMH / Electromagnetics Hazards and Lightning and Electrostatic protection
- Safety and Reliability of the A/C
- Software quality assurance of systems / equipments
- Configuration Management – ensure the right process and traceability for all modifications carried out in each aircraft delivered
- Manufacturing Engineering – Industrialisation: provide engineering assessment & monitoring in the system development to ensure the right maturity at aircraft delivery and in‑service operation

You will sketch the sizing of the MBN (Metallic Bonding Network) – lightning current flow and spurious fault currents due to equipment failure. Because the aircraft is made of carbon material (CFRP), a bonding network is needed. The network provides a fault‑current path. Sizing the MBN requires knowledge of the electrical loads of the aircraft and how the electrical protection of generators works. You will use multiphysics: electrical equations to calculate the power that needs to be dissipated and thermal equations to ensure the CFRP is not damaged when dissipating that power.

You may participate in tests to validate the developed model and have the opportunity to improve it.

The main knowledge that the apprentice will gain includes basic knowledge of the structural components of the different aircraft parts; more in‑depth knowledge will be focused on tail cone, wing and belly fairing; understanding the main architecture of the systems and their functions/interfaces – mainly electric generation, external lights, bleed & pneumatic, and inertisation of the fuel tanks; engineering organization and technical interfaces with other areas (e.g., chief engineering, manufacturing & quality, in‑service or maintenance).
