The opportunity:
As Markel continues to drive its strategy to expand across Europe, we are looking to grow our Financial Lines team in Spain.
As a Senior Financial Institutions Underwriter, you will have
the opportunity to develop, expand, and strengthen our Financial Institutions portfolio across Spain, Portugal, and Italy.
What you’ll be doing:
- Underwriting and growing the Financial Institutions book of business profitably, within the dedicated region
- Establishing, developing, and expanding broker and customer relationships
- Extending and consolidating our footprint as a recognized insurance partner by assessing, proposing, and negotiating insurance conditions for large and midsize projects, with a primary focus on Liability
- Working closely with our Madrid team regarding clients and brokers
- Assessing risks, coverage, terms, and conditions, driving related underwriting processes
- Working closely with the General Manager of the Madrid office and the Liability department, to ensure development and profitability of the portfolio
- Developing the Underwriting strategy, guidelines, standards, processes and tools as well as developing new products and updating existing ones as required
- Handling the referral business
- Interacting with other functions
