Position Overview
We are seeking a Steel Plant Technician to join a leading industrial services environment supporting steel manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for product application, equipment operation, preventive maintenance, stock management, customer interaction, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational procedures on-site.
This role requires a hands-on technician with strong mechanical aptitude, autonomy, and a customer-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Equipment
- Apply industrial products/materials using dedicated equipment
- Operate and monitor all assigned equipment safely and efficiently
- Follow standard operating procedures and site regulations
- Maintain high housekeeping and cleanliness standards on-site
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot operational issues
- Ensure equipment remains fully operational and reliable
- Support spare parts management and inventory control
Site & Administrative Support
- Manage stock levels and coordinate replenishment
- Maintain accurate operational and maintenance records
- Support invoicing follow-up related to replaced parts and services
- Assist with reporting and documentation updates
Training & Continuous Improvement
- Support onboarding and training of new employees
- Demonstrate proper equipment usage and operational best practices
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, 5S, TPM, and problem-solving activities
- Contribute ideas for operational and service improvements
Customer & Safety Focus
- Maintain professional relationships with customers on-site
- Ensure high standards of customer satisfaction
- Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Participate actively in safety initiatives, risk assessments, and incident reporting
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
- Previous experience in industrial services, steel manufacturing, or heavy industry preferred
- Background in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems is highly valued
