Job Description

- For a client within the Flemish Government, we are looking for a senior Network & Security profile with clear experience in architecture and design, combined with a willingness to also take on hands-on operational work.
- You will be part of the Network & Security Team and play a key role in designing, improving and helping to implement the network and security landscape within a complex enterprise environment.

This role combines:

- architecture & design (±50%)
- hands-on engineering & troubleshooting (±50%)

Responsibilities

- Defining and developing network & security architectures (HLD/LLD)
- Drafting technical roadmaps and standards
- Leading and supporting data center projects and migrations
- Translating business and technical requirements into scalable solutions
- Reviewing and monitoring the quality of implementations
- Actively participating in operational support and complex troubleshooting (L3)
- Supporting critical incidents and problem analysis
- Coaching and supervising engineers within the team
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners

Technical requirements

- Strong experience (typically 8+ years) within network & security, with proven experience in architecture and design:
- Datacenter networking
- Cisco (Nexus, ACI)
- Security
- Palo Alto (NGFW, Prisma)
- Firewalling, VPN, segmentation, zero trust




- Load balancing
- Virtualization
- VMware NSX

Multi-vendor enterprise environments

Additional:

- Experience with network automation / CI/CD / scripting is a plus
- Experience with high availability and mission critical environments
- Experience with migration and transformation processes

Education & certifications

- Bachelor/Master IT or equivalent through experience
- Cisco certification (CCNP or higher)
- PCNSE and/or ACI certification are strong pluses
