In this fixed-term role you will apply marine water quality modelling and data analysis to support evidence-based decisions on discharges and their effects on estuary and coastal waters. You will join a national Marine team within Operations Catchment Services, collaborating with stakeholders to assess impacts for major infrastructure and watershed programmes.
You will interpret monitoring data and model outputs to support environmental protection, communicating findings to diverse audiences. Your work will help shape decisions across national projects, with training and mentoring provided to grow your skills.

- Assess the impact of discharges on water quality across key areas (e.g., Nuclear New Build, major infrastructure, Water Industry National Environment Programme)
- Model bathing water quality and nutrient loads in estuaries
- Analyse data and model outputs to inform environmental protection decisions
- Communicate complex findings clearly to non-technical audiences
- Build relationships across a dispersed team and with external partners
- Take initiative, contribute to team work, and delegate when needed
Responsabilidades
- Experience in data analysis
- Knowledge of modelling software
- Proficiency with Excel, Access, R, Power BI, GIS; experience with Mike or Cormix is advantageous
- Knowledge of water quality and the marine environment
- Ability to work in a virtual team and travel for national meetings
- Strong communication and stakeholder-relations skills
- Comfort with flexible working patterns and remote collaboration
