ADASI is the regional leader in autonomous systems and services, dedicated to offering holistic solutions – from the development and production of unmanned systems to joint mission analysis and equipment acquisition. We manufacture, operate, and maintain next‑generation autonomous capabilities for air, land, and sea, operating in demanding environments.

Headquartered in the UAE, we are committed to advancing the region’s technological edge in defense innovation.

The Role

We are looking for a highly experienced Systems Engineer – Stability and Control to join our Engineering team at ADASI. In this role, you will be responsible for the analysis, modeling, simulation, and verification of flight stability and control systems for our next‑generation UAV platforms.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring safe, stable, and agile flight behavior across all mission profiles, from launch to recovery. Your work will directly influence flight control strategies, vehicle handling qualities, and overall system performance in a defense and aerospace environment.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct longitudinal and lateral‑directional stability analyses for UAV platforms

Define control surface sizing, actuator capabilities, and trim conditions

Develop and maintain 6‑DOF flight dynamics models in MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent

Design, tune, and validate autopilot control laws (PID, LQR, gain‑scheduled controllers)

Integrate aerodynamic and mass property data into high‑fidelity simulations

Plan and execute V&V; strategies using simulation, HIL, and flight testing

Analyze flight test data to evaluate control performance and stability margins

Support wind tunnel, ground, and flight testing campaigns

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in aerodynamics, avionics, software, and systems integration

Contribute to safety assessments, certification reports, and compliance with airworthiness standards

Required Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Control Systems, or related field (required)

Master’s degree in Flight Dynamics or Control Engineering (preferred)

Experience:

Minimum 10+ years in aerospace or defense industry

At least 5 years of hands‑on experience in flight stability and control of UAVs or aircraft

Certifications (preferred):

INCOSE ASEP/CSEP

Certification in flight dynamics or control simulation tools

Awareness of AS9100D or ISO 9001 systems

Technical Tools

Modelling and simulation: MATLAB/Simulink, X-Plane, Flight Gear
Stability analysis tools: AVL, XFOIL, Athena Vortex Lattice

Control system design: Classical and modern methods (PID, LQR, etc.)

Integration of CFD and mass property data

Airworthiness and stability standards: MIL-F-8785C, MIL-HDBK-1797, CS-UAS, DO-178C

Idóneo Attributes

Analytical thinker with deep flight mechanics knowledge

Strong communicator with technical documentation skills

Systems-minded with cross‑disciplinary collaboration experience

High attention to detail and safety in flight‑critical systems

Proactive, solution‑oriented, and comfortable in fast‑paced programs

Note: This job requires relocation to Abu Dhabi, UAE
