Senior ERP Systems Engineer (ERP FinOps and License Manager)
Leads the strategic financial governance, cost optimization, and license/credit/subscription utilization for the organization’s global ERP and SAP environments. Acts as a bridge between IT, Finance, and Procurement to ensure full compliance with vendor licensing rules while eliminating overspending, cloud waste, and token consumption leakages. Serves as both an analyst and a strategic advisor, governing software assets alongside utility‑based consumption models and turning complex system‑utilization data into actionable cost‑containment frameworks to maximize ROI for the enterprise application ecosystem.

Job Responsibilities
- SAP License Management & Compliance – Lead commercial and administrative governance of the software asset lifecycle; analyze user entitlements based on role assignments and platform transaction profiles to assign the most cost‑effective SAP license types.
- AI Token & Consumption Governance – Establish and own the tracking framework for SAP AI Units across general sub‑accounts; define usage guardrails, map expenditures to active business pilots/use cases, and implement hard quota limits in the BTP Cockpit.
- Audit Readiness & True‑Ups – Establish permanent compliance guardrails and drive execution of periodic system measurement huddles; reconcile software entitlements against real‑time consumption data to ensure successful vendor audits and minimize financial risk.
- Cloud FinOps Execution – Oversee the financial operations of cloud environments,
tracking total cost of ownership, multi‑million software asset budgets, and rolling forecasts; monitor spending trends to eliminate unnecessary expenditures.
- Software Asset Management Tooling – Assess needs and coordinate effective use of the corporate Software Asset Management toolbox.
- Stakeholder Management – Demonstrate a strong grasp of stakeholder ecosystems, excel in negotiations and partnerships, and provide clear direction to mid‑to‑long‑term goals.
- Cost Allocation, Showback & Chargeback – Implement and refine internal chargeback models to bill corporate entities, local affiliates, or shared value streams accurately for ERP cloud, application, and consumption‑based footprint.
- Vendor Negotiations – Evaluate enterprise usage data and token burnout speed to provide procurement with predictive, data‑backed models for favorable terms, true‑ups, and avoidance of over‑licensing.
- Impact/Strategy – Provide global‑level support for innovative and technological initiatives and drive medium to large‑scale asset and subscription optimization initiatives across product lines.
- Knowledge Scaling – Share FinOps, licensing, cloud, and AI metering expertise at internal events, user groups,
and Centers of Excellence; mentor to embed cost‑consciousness directly into release management pipelines.
Qualifications
- Expertise in SAP Licensing & Entitlement Architecture, including S/4HANA Private Cloud RISE metrics, FUE, Digital Access, BTP consumption credits, SAP AI Units billing logic, and legacy licensing structures.
- Strong technical understanding of Cloud FinOps framework principles, utility‑based/metered consumption engines, software asset management tooling, and infrastructure cost‑telemetry practices.
- Capability to design and implement dashboard monitoring and visualizations to replace manual compliance workflows and isolate system utilization trends.
- Demonstrated experience in defining tasks, monitoring, and following up within the organization; proven track record of managing enterprise software contracts, platform cost tracking, credit pools, or license true‑ups within complex SAP landscapes.
- Experience participating in global knowledge‑sharing events, technical universities, or Centers of Excellence (CoEs).
- Deep expertise in ERP software engineering and providing platform support through advanced tools and streamlined processes; understanding of overall application architecture and delivery roadmaps.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, capable of building mutually beneficial partnerships across stakeholder ecosystems and providing direction for mid‑to‑long‑term goals. xqbhyrx
