We are looking for a Senior Electrical AIT Engineer to lead spacecraft electrical Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) activities across the full project lifecycle, from subsystem integration through to launch campaign support. This role carries strong ownership of the planning and procedural side of AIT — defining how integration and test activity is structured before it reaches the floor — with remote/hybrid flexibility available for planning-heavy phases of work.
Key Responsibilities Lead spacecraft electrical AIT activities for flight hardware across the project lifecycle
Define and plan spacecraft electrical integration, functional verification, and test campaigns, from subsystem integration through to launch campaign support
Specify, develop, validate, and maintain Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE)
Author, review, and approve AIT documentation, including Integration Procedures, Test Procedures, Test Plans, and Test Reports
Coordinate cross-functional teams during integration and test campaigns, ensuring alignment with schedule, quality, and safety requirements
Support environmental test campaigns (vibration, thermal vacuum, EMC, etc.), including electrical setup, functional testing, troubleshooting, and anomaly resolution
Carry out electrical integration tasks: harness installation,
connector mating/demating, electrical inspections, continuity checks, functional verification
Lead anomaly investigation, root-cause analysis, and non-conformance resolution
Ensure alignment with ECSS-equivalent standards, client requirements, and AIT best practice
Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and technicians
What We’re Looking For 5+ years’ experience in spacecraft AIT or a closely related discipline, including flight-hardware projects
Strong grounding in spacecraft electrical integration, harness architecture, interfaces, and functional verification
Experience specifying, developing, and operating EGSE
Familiarity with ECSS, MIL-STD, or equivalent aerospace quality standards
Confident use of electrical test equipment and lab instrumentation
Demonstrated ownership of electrical AIT activity across a full project lifecycle
Exposure to Earth Observation missions and/or launch vehicles is an advantage
Background in the aerospace sector
European space programme exposure is an advantage
Familiarity with verification activity in later development phases (pre-flight/qualification)
Strong troubleshooting ability and structured problem-solving approach
