ph3Global BU Operations HSE Manager, Grid Automation /h3pWe are looking for a Integral BU Operations HSE Manager to support and strengthen Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) performance across Business Unit Grid Automation. /ppThe role focuses on operational environments (projects, service, and manufacturing), ensuring effective implementation of HSE standards, programs, and risk management practices. It provides guidance, coaching, and constructive challenge to operational teams, acting as part of the Second Line of Defence. /ppThe Global BU Operations HSE Manager also contributes to the development and continuous improvement of HSE programs and represents the Business Unit within the HSE Operating System, ensuring alignment between global frameworks and operational execution. /ph3How you'll make an impact /h3pSupport the implementation of the HSE strategy within BU operations. /ppAct as a visible HSE leader through regular site visits and direct engagement with operational teams. /ppPromote a strong safety culture by fostering accountability, ownership, and risk awareness at all levels of the organization. /ppAssess HSE performance across projects, service operations, and manufacturing sites through field visits and operational reviews. /ppSupport and challenge operational teams in identifying risks, implementing effective controls, and ensuring safe execution of work. /ppMonitor compliance with Hitachi Energy HSE standards, 3 lines of defence, Life-Saving Rules, and operational risk management requirements. /ppAnalyze HSE performance data to identify trends, priorities, and opportunities for continuous improvement. /ppLeverage digital tools and dashboards to support operational performance monitoring and informed decision-making. /ppFacilitate the sharing of lessons learned and best practices across countries and Hubs. /ppSupport in the incident investigation and the deployment of incident learnings and organizational improvement initiatives.
/ppProvide independent oversight and constructive challenge as part of the Second Line of Defense model. /ppRepresent the Business Unit in HSE Operating System programs, governance activities, and improvement initiatives. /ppContribute to the development and deployment of HSE programs focused on high‑risk activities and operational performance. /ppSupport Hubs and countries in strengthening HSE competencies and capabilities. /ph3Your background /h3pDegree or professional qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. /ppRecognized HSE qualification such as NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent. /pp8-10 years of experience in HSE roles within operational environments. /ppSolid experience supporting site operations and assembly-related activities. /ppGood knowledge of HSE management systems, auditing practices, and risk management methodologies. /ppExperience conducting audits, investigations, and root cause analyses. /ppStrong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable improvements. /ppExcellent communication and report‑writing skills. /ppFluency in English; additional languages are considered an advantage. /ppWillingness to travel frequently on a global scale(30-40%) /ph3More about us /h3pWe believegreat workthrives in an environment where people feel genuinely supported andfairly rewarded.
