The Advanced Data-converter Platforms Group (ADG) team has an opening for a senior product applications engineer. This group develops narrow/wideband/ultra-wideband TRx /ADC/DAC products for aerospace, defense, instrumentation and communication applications such as radar, 5G, LEO satellite, and smart phone testers. /p pAs part of the Aerospace and Defense marketplace, Product Applications Engineers are exposed to some of the most advanced and experimental use cases available in the Radio Frequency domain. Joining this team will require capabilities in handling both the most technical aspects of developing custom applications, as well as in dealing with the soft skills required for advanced customer support. In particular, this team is experimenting with broadening the support models which have been in place since Analog Devices first entered the marketplace over 50 years ago. /p pIn this position you will work directly with software engineering, product engineering, production test, marketing, sales, and field applications engineers to enable customers to move fast from evaluation to prototyping with narrow/wideband TRx/ADC/DAC based designs, ensure a positive customer experience and win new design-ins. /p pApplications teams are very customer focused group and work very closely with customers and Marketing department will be expected over time to help in the definition of future products. /p pIn summary, this position will require applicants to be equally comfortable in a lab setting as they are with talking to boards of directors. Handling the leading edge in Software Defined Radio applications means dealing both with the technicalities of experimental use cases, as well as pushing the boundaries of how modern customers find their technical support.
/p pbResponsibilities /b /p ul liPrimary technical support to customers to solve implementation issues relating to the use of TRx / ADC / DAC. Support customers by phone, email, on-line forums and on-site visits to present information, answer questions, and debug customer issues. /li liIntegrate and troubleshoot software and hardware on evaluation boards. /li liCollaborate with the marketing team to engage with customers to understand, define and document customer system requirements. /li liDefine and implement eval board architecture and release plans /li liCollaborate with Systems, FPGA and Software Engineers to define, architect and implement the DSP reference design to accelerate the adoptions of ADI solution. /li liCreate technical media (datasheets, application notes, training materials and technical seminars/webinars) that promote awareness, effectiveness and ease of use of Analog Devices’ products. /li /ul pbKey Qualifications /b /p ul liStrong fundamentals in high-speed data converters and radio signal chain. /li liExperience with RF and mixed-signal systems design and debug. /li liStrong fundamentals in data converters, mixed signal, and processor-based systems. Knowledge in RF, PLL and filters domains is a plus. /li liFamiliarity with the role of key RF design specifications (such as IIP3, Noise Figure, etc.) is preferred. /li liFamiliarity with bench test equipment including oscilloscopes, signal generators and spectrum analyzer. /li liSome programming experience in C, Python and some knowledge of data structures and software abstraction concepts such as an application programming interface (API). /li liProgramming and troubleshooting experience in embedded C and knowledge of software abstraction concepts such as an application programming interface (API) is required. /li liFamiliarity with DSP theory and algorithms (i.e. FFT, Filtering, sample rate conversion, equalizer, fractional resampling, source and channel codec, NCO, DDC, QEC etc.) is preferred. Knowledge about DPD and FPGA is a plus. /li liAbility to interact effectively with customers and other teams. /li liTeam player, fluent in English with excellent oral and written communication skills. /li liPlanning and organization:
