The IIoT Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions that connect food and beverage processing equipment with cloud-based digital applications and advanced data analytics platforms. This role combines expertise in industrial automation, connectivity, cloud technologies, and data engineering to deliver scalable digital solutions that enable real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, process optimization, asset performance management, and sustainability initiatives. This position can be based in Alcobendas (Spain), Naas (Ireland) or Bogota (Colombia), depending on the selected candidate.Responsibilities / Tasks- Integrate Siemens and Rockwell automation systems with cloud-based platforms, including Microsoft Azure, InfluxDB, and Databricks.- Support the development of digital applications for equipment monitoring, asset performance management, predictive maintenance, energy management, water optimization, and production performance analytics.- Collaborate with Product Managers and Automation Engineers to define technical requirements.- Implement edge-to-cloud connectivity solutions for real-time data collection and monitoring.- Drive the standardization of digital architectures and integration frameworks.- Ensure IIoT solutions comply with OT cybersecurity standards and industry best practices.- Implement standardized industrial data models, asset hierarchies, and contextualized data structures.- Support the development of reusable connectivity and analytics solutions.- Identify opportunities to improve the reliability, scalability,
and performance of digital products.Your Profile / QualificationsEducational BackgroundBachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical or Automation Engineering or Computer Science.Professional Knowledge and Experience- 5+ years of experience in Industrial Automation, IIoT, Cloud Engineering, or Digital Solutions.- Experience delivering cloud-based software products using Microsoft Azure.- Experience working with InfluxDB and Databricks for time-series data management, analytics, and reporting.- Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, HMI, and industrial control systems within process or manufacturing industries.- Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.- Knowledge of Food & Beverage processes.- Awareness of IEC 62443 and industrial cybersecurity principles.- Fluent English (B2/C1) required.
