Responsibilities

The Construction Manager:

- Reports directly to the Island Works Manager.
- Coordinates a team of client representatives and project engineers.
- Oversees health, safety and environmental compliance of the EPC contractor using a risk-based approach, supported by the HSE officer.
- Oversees quality control activities of the EPC contractor, supported by the quality control officer and the onshore project team.
- Monitors progress and provides regular reporting.
- Supports the staffing, onboarding and integration of client representatives.
- Reviews method statements, risk analyses and operational procedures together with the onshore project team.
- Proactively identifies risks and opportunities and develops mitigation plans.
- Acts as the single point of contact (SPOC) on-site for daily construction activities.
- Collaborates closely with offshore project engineers and the wider onshore team, including specialists in marine, civil engineering, quality,



health and safety, project management and contract management.

Requirements

Experience and technical expertise

- Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience.
- Proven experience in civil construction projects is essential.
- Experience in the offshore sector is considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of structural engineering and corrosion protection is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, telecommunications and mechanical systems is considered a plus.
- Engineering degree, preferably in civil engineering.

- Strong organisational and planning capabilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Fast learner with a proactive attitude.
- Persistent, resilient and solution-oriented mindset.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with ACONEX is considered an advantage.

Training and certifications

- Offshore medical certification (for example, NOGEPA).
- BOSIET certification or equivalent.
- Boat landing training.

Languages

- Fluent English is mandatory.
- Knowledge of Dutch and/or French is considered an advantage.

The role combines periods of full-time office work in Belgium with rotational assignments on the offshore island during the execution phase of the project. Accommodation on the island and transportation to and from the site are provided.
