Freelance DevOps and Azure Engineer - Greenfield Implementation - Hybrid

We are seeking an experienced Freelance DevOps & Azure Engineer to join a greenfield implementation project, building a modern Azure cloud platform from the ground up. You will play a key role in designing, automating, and deploying cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, while implementing DevOps best practices to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available solutions.

Responsibilities

- Design, build, and implement a greenfield Microsoft Azure cloud environment.
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate infrastructure and application deployments.
- Deploy and manage Azure services, networking, identity, and security components.
- Implement cloud governance, monitoring, and operational best practices.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, and infrastructure teams to deliver cloud-native solutions.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.
- Support containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes where applicable.

Experience

- Proven experience as a DevOps or Azure Engineer in enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.




- Expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native technologies.
- Experience with PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting.
- Strong understanding of Azure networking, Entra ID, cloud security, and monitoring.

Experience

- Proven experience delivering end-to-end RBAC implementation projects
- Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) and access governance principles.
- Experience working in Active Directory environments (governance rather than administration).
- Ability to engage and challenge business stakeholders to define effective role models and access structures.
- Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
