SAP Enterprise Architect / SAP Strategy Lead

Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP Enterprise Architect / SAP Strategy Lead to drive SAP architecture decisions, provide strategic technology guidance, and ensure alignment between business objectives and the SAP landscape. This role requires a senior-level professional with extensive SAP expertise who can operate at both executive and architectural levels, challenging implementation partners and guiding long-term investment decisions. This is a four-year engagement, which can be undertaken on a full-time or part-time basis.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and maintain the organization's SAP Enterprise Architecture strategy, with a strong focus on SAP S/4HANA.
- Act as the trusted advisor to CIOs, IT leadership, and business stakeholders on SAP-related strategic initiatives.
- Develop and maintain SAP roadmaps aligned with business objectives, digital transformation programs, and technology investment plans.
- Assess and challenge architecture proposals, designs, and recommendations provided by SAP implementation and consulting partners.
- Ensure SAP solutions fit within the broader enterprise architecture landscape.
- Lead architecture governance and facilitate key design decision-making forums.
- Provide guidance on SAP platform modernization, cloud strategy, integration architecture, and future-state operating models.
- Evaluate business cases, investment opportunities, and technology risks related to SAP programs.
- Serve as the bridge between business leadership, IT leadership, and external partners to ensure successful strategic outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to optimize SAP investments,



simplify architecture, and improve business value realization.

Required Experience & Qualifications

- 10-15+ years of SAP experience, including significant exposure to complex enterprise environments.
- Proven expertise in SAP S/4HANA architecture and transformation programs.
- Strong background in Enterprise Architecture, beyond hands-on implementation activities.
- Demonstrated ability to challenge and manage large SAP system integrators and implementation partners.
- Experience defining multi-year SAP roadmaps and supporting strategic investment decisions.
- Strong understanding of SAP ecosystem capabilities, integrations, governance, security, and best practices.
- Experience working within large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business-focused recommendations.

- External SAP Partners and System Integrators
- Proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving consensus on strategic technology decisions.
