JOB DESCRIPTION

- Client is building a data and information platform in Databricks within a Microsoft Azure Cloud environment. Several Azure Cloud services support the platform, and Power BI acts as the central reporting tool for business reporting and analytics.
- Various sources and applications are accessed to this platform, which is made up of different data and information layers to support (advanced) analytics and operational use cases.
- To achieve this, a domain-based organization of data teams was set up.
- Within this structure, data and BI specialists work on the development of data products to support analytical and operational use cases specific to their domain.

WITHIN THE DOMAIN OF CUSTOMER AND GRID OPERATIONS, WE WANT TO DEVELOP A CUSTOMER ORCHESTRATOR:

- a tool that, based on information from data products within this domain, determines the optimal sequence for the execution of customer operations.
- For this trajectory, we are looking for an experienced Azure Cloud/Data Engineer who, thanks to his or her expertise, can develop the Customer Orchestrator end-to-end:
- (Near-)real-time processing and streaming of data to the platform.
- Building data products within the platform according to Client' architecture and design principles.
- API-based access and event processing of data products to applications.
- Development of application components, such as a rule engine for the Customer Orchestrator.

CONTEXT:

- This process is being tackled on a project basis under the leadership of Client and in close collaboration with Client colleagues.
- You will be part of a self-managing Scrum team, in which you will carry out the following activities:




- You will draw up functional analyses and specifications and discuss them with the various stakeholders (information analysts, solution architects, application specialists, etc.).
- Based on the needs, you develop the data model in the different layers of the platform, in accordance with Client' BI guidelines. In addition, you will design the application components required for the realization of the entire Customer Orchestrator solution.
- You are responsible for the technical implementation within a Microsoft Azure environment (with Databricks as the main service), from data extraction to the end application.
- You follow the usual development cycle within the platform and respect the Client ICT Change and Release process.
- You check the work carried out on the basis of a test plan and help to provide the necessary test data for the execution of the test cases.
- You ensure that your solution is correctly incorporated into the operational operation, so that end-to-end monitoring can take place and the agreed service levels are achieved.
- You will develop overarching communication and training materials and keep them up to date in Confluence and Jira.
- You support fellow engineers and guide them where necessary in the development of the end-to-end chain.

IN ADDITION:

- In view of the intensive cooperation with various stakeholders, a very good knowledge of Dutch, both orally and in writing, is necessary.
- Based on his or her expertise,

SKILLS:

- Demonstrable experience as a BI Consultant
- Proven experience in data processing and data modeling
- Proven experience with Data Management (ETL)
- Proven experience with Databricks
- Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of Python (or PySpark) coding language
- Proven experience with SQL scripts
- Demonstrable experience working in an MS Azure environment
- Demonstrable experience in the Belgian energy sector is an asset
- Demonstrable experience with Agile / scrum operation
- Demonstrable experience with API management
- Proven experience with data vault modeling
- Demonstrable experience with Kafka
- Proven experience with several of the following Azure services: Azure Data Factory, Azure Key Vault, Azure DevOps, Azure Storage Accounts, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database
- Demonstrable experience with reporting tools
- Demonstrable experience with requirements analysis
- The candidate possesses a valid Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional certificate.
