Purpose of the Call
Applications are invited for one permanent position as Head of Communication and Knowledge Transfer (Research Support Staff - PSR). The successful candidate will carry out activities linked to the research line "Gender, material culture and maintenance activities in colonial situations", led by the Colonialism, Gender and Materialities (CGM) research group, and based at the Department of Humanities. This contract is regulated under the provisions of Royal Decree-Law 32/2021, of December 28, 2021, and Article 23 bis of Law 14/2011, of June 1, on Science, Technology, and Innovation.

and Tasks The hired professional will perform specific tasks to support scientific communication and public dissemination of the archaeological campaigns planned by the European projects during 2027 in Saipan, Palasyo (Guam), Savonet (Curaçao), and Klein Bonaire (Bonaire).
Tasks will be temporarily limited to the preparation, coverage, and dissemination of the field activities associated with these archaeological campaigns.
- Preparation of materials and communication strategy prior to the campaigns (September 2026 – January 2027)
- Development of the communication calendar for the four archaeological campaigns scheduled for 2027.
- Preparation of graphic and audiovisual materials prior to the campaigns (visual assets and web content).
- Drafting of preliminary outreach content regarding scientific objectives, participating teams, and field activities.
- Coordination with research teams to identify activities and content suitable for communication during excavations.
- Planning public dissemination actions linked to each archaeological campaign.
- Preparation of informative dossiers and press releases prior to the start of fieldwork.
2. Media and communication coverage of the 2027 archaeological campaigns (during excavation periods)
- Generation and publication of live updates and content about the excavations on the digital channels of both the projects and the institution.
- Periodic drafting of outreach content on the progress of the archaeological works.
- Coordinating the collection of photographic and audiovisual material from the campaigns.
- Updating web content related to fieldwork.
- Support in preparing content for media outlets and institutional channels.
- Occasional coordination of visits, open-door activities, or dissemination events linked to the excavations, when planned by the projects.
3. Post-campaign dissemination and closure of communication actions (September – December 2027)
- Creation of feedback and summary content regarding the preliminary results of the campaigns.
- Preparation of final outreach materials derived from the excavations carried out during 2027.
- Production of a compilation of media impacts and communication indicators generated during the campaigns.
- Organization and coordination of specific public dissemination actions linked to the preliminary results of the excavations.
- Archiving and systematization of graphic and audiovisual materials generated during the field campaigns.
The candidate must express their willingness to live and work in Barcelona.

Candidate Requirements
General Requirements
- Hold a High School Diploma (Batxillerat / equivalent secondary education).
- Not have been dismissed through disciplinary proceedings from the service of any public administration, nor be disqualified by a final judgment from holding public office. In the case of nationals from another State, not be disqualified or in an equivalent situation,
nor have been subjected to a disciplinary sanction or equivalent that prevents, in their State, access to public employment under the same terms.
These eligibility criteria must be met by the closing date for applications, must be duly verifiable at any point of the selection process, and must continue to be met on the date the contract is signed.

- Professional experience in managing social media networks for research groups: 20 points
- Experience in website management: 20 points
- Knowledge of video editing, production, and filmmaking: 20 points
- Experience in podcasting and radio: 10 points
- Minimum score required to pass the selection process: 50 points
If deemed appropriate, the Selection Committee may invite candidates to an interview or contact references to clarify aspects of their CV to better assess their application.
Selection Committee The operations of the selection committees will comply with the Regulations on the remote functioning of sessions of collegiate bodies of Pompeu Fabra University (Board of Governors Agreement of December 9, 2020), and sessions must always be held synchronously. For matters not covered by these regulations, Law 26/2010, of August 3, on the legal regime and procedure of public administrations in Catalonia will apply, without prejudice to the basic rules established in Article 17 of Law 40/2015, of October 1, on the Legal Regime of the Public Sector.
In sessions where candidates are required to participate, the physical presence of the candidates and, at least, the secretary of the Committee will be ensured. If a candidate proves their residence outside Catalonia or justified circumstances prevent their physical attendance, they may request remote participation from the Committee's secretary. The secretary may grant this, provided it does not affect equal opportunities among candidates during tests and Committee assessments.

Submission of Applications and Supporting Documentation
Applications must include documents proving the required qualifications and merits to be evaluated. If copies are provided, original documents may be requested at any stage of the selection process.
To justify the merits under evaluation, the following documentation must be submitted:

Publication of Administrative Acts and Results
All administrative acts related to this selection procedure will be published on the Pompeu Fabra University website (https://www.upf.edu/ca/web/humanitats/convocatories-obertes). This publication serves as official notification, in accordance with Article 45.1.b) of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.
Once the call is published, the specific dates for publishing the provisional list of admitted and excluded candidates will be posted on the same website. Following the publication of this provisional list,
an appeals period of 2 calendar days will open, starting the day after its publication. If no appeals are filed within this period, the list will automatically become final.
An appeal against the final list of admitted and excluded candidates, which exhausts administrative remedies, may be filed before the Social Courts (Jutjats Socials) of Barcelona within two months from the day following its publication on the UPF website.
Approximate dates for the publication of the Selection Committee's shortlisting proposal and the final award resolution by the Vice-Rector for Teaching and Research Staff will also be posted on this website.
Proposal of Award
Following the publication of the Selection Committee's award proposal, an appeals period of 2 calendar days will open, starting the day after its publication.
Final Award Resolution The selection process will conclude with the official award resolution issued by the Vice-Rector for Teaching and Research Staff.
An appeal against this final award resolution may be filed before the Social Courts of Barcelona within two months from the day following its publication on the UPF website.
For non-EU citizens, contract formalization is subject to obtaining the corresponding residence and work authorization.
Personal Data Protection Statement
1. In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679, Pompeu Fabra University is the Data Controller for the personal data provided by participants in their applications, as well as any other supporting documentation submitted, and any data generated as a consequence of participating in this selection process.
2. Data will be processed for the purpose of managing the selection process specified in these terms. This includes actions regarding the admission or exclusion of applicants, handling potential complaints, verifying data provided by candidates, conducting tests, and evaluating merits.
Automated decision-making or profiling will not be used. Personal data (including images and voice recordings, if applicable) will be retained to address potential appeals or claims, within the timeframes established by regulations and applicable archiving laws.
3. The legal basis for processing is compliance with a legal obligation. The University will process data in accordance with Articles 77 to 86 of Organic Law 2/2023, of March 22, on the University System; Articles 45 to 51 and 63 of Law 1/2003 on Universities of Catalonia, and other applicable legislation. Data processing is carried out under this legal obligation and to execute pre-contractual measures at the request of the data subject.
4. Data will be processed by Pompeu Fabra University. Auxiliary services from information society companies may be used under contracts that safeguard data privacy. Data may also be handled by third parties participating in the selection process as board members or advisors, subject to confidentiality agreements.
In compliance with Law 39/2015, of October 1, on Common Administrative Procedure, and Law 19/2014, of December 29, on Transparency, Access to Public Information and Good Governance, lists of admitted candidates or those passing certain stages may be published on the University website, showing full name and four digits of their ID/NIE/Passport.
Excluded lists may be published showing only the four digits of the identification document. Data will not be shared with third parties without prior consent, except as provided by law.
1. Pompeu Fabra University may take photographs and record the image/voice of participants during practical tests and interviews, and may use these recordings free of charge for the sole purpose of resolving the selection process. This excludes uses that may infringe on the right to honor under Organic Law 1/1982, of May 5, on civil protection of the right to honor, personal and family privacy, and one's own image.
