Attention!! This is not just another technical role. It is an opportunity to work on practical climate solutions with a direct application in renewable energy and climate-change adaptation.

At Geoskop, we are a Climate Intelligence boutique providing predictive insights to support industry adaptation to climate change. We are technologists and scientists developing algorithms, data-processing systems and software products that help our clients understand how climate conditions may affect their assets, investments and operations.

Our goal is to integrate Climate Intelligence into our clients’ strategic and technical decision-making processes.

Geoskop is seeking a Junior Data Scientist / Scientific Software Developer for an initial six-month freelance collaboration (high possibilities to be extended) with full-time dedication and the possibility to work remote.

Your responsibilities

- Contribute to the development and improvement of RADS, our climate-intelligence solution for wind and solar resource assessment.
- Explore Artificial Intelligence and statistical tools that can add value to industry through predictive climate and weather data.
- Develop and automate data-processing, model-execution, validation and reporting workflows.
- Support the validation of climate predictions, calculation of performance metrics and quantification of uncertainty.
- Process raw climate, meteorological and asset-level data, ensuring its quality, consistency and suitability for analysis.
- Assist in maintaining, testing and improving our back-end systems and technical workflows.
- Support the preparation and delivery of ad hoc climate-intelligence projects for clients.
- Translate technical results into actionable insights, visualisations and client-ready climate reports.
- Prepare technical documentation, case studies and supporting material for business-development activities.
- Interact with clients and end users when required to understand needs, explain results and support project implementation.

What we are looking for

- Degree in physics,

climatology, environmental sciences, applied mathematics, engineering, computer science or a related discipline.
- Practical knowledge of Python, particularly for scientific computing and data processing.
- Experience with libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Xarray, SciPy or similar.
- Advanced English level.
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organise work, establish priorities and meet deadlines.
- Interest in combining technical development with practical client applications.
- Curiosity, autonomy and willingness to learn in a small scientific and technology-driven company.

Desirable experience

- (Desirable) Developing, testing and debugging scientific or data-processing algorithms.
- (Desirable) Git and collaborative software-development workflows.
- (Desirable) Climate, meteorological, geospatial or time-series data.
- (Desirable) Workflow automation in PowerAutomate and Sharepoint
- (Desirable) Python optimisation tools such as Numba or Cython.
- (Desirable) Data modelling, statistical validation and uncertainty analysis.
- (Desirable) Transforming technical results into clear reports or business-relevant information.
- (Desirable) Scientific research or publications related to climatology, renewable energy or data science.

What we offer

- A remote work
- A paid freelance collaboration for an initial period of six months. High possibilities to be extended.
- Full-time involvement in active scientific, software-development and client projects.
- Direct participation in the development of RADS and Geoskop’s proprietary climate-prediction technology.
- Exposure to climate modelling, Artificial Intelligence, renewable-energy applications and real client projects.
- Close collaboration with Geoskop’s CEO.
- The opportunity to take ownership of technical tasks and rapidly develop professional experience within a specialised scientific start-up.

To apply, please send your CV and, optionally, a motivation letter explaining your interest in climate intelligence, software dev-ops or renewable-energy applications.
