Position Overview The primary responsibility of this position is to bridge the gap between cutting-edge machine learning research in neuroscience and production-ready medical technology. In this role, you will play a critical part in wrapping, optimizing and deploying machine learning models onto both physical medical devices and AWS cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
· Architect & Deploy: Wrap, modularize, and optimize machine learning models for deployment on medical devices and AWS cloud environments.
· Applied Machine Learning Research: Keep up with the state-of-the-art in machine learning and do research to apply it to our use cases.
· Collaborate & Mentor: Partner closely with a researcher in neuroscience, providing code reviews, architectural guidance, and engineering mentorship.
· Productionize Code: Clean, refactor, and elevate Python functionalities into production-ready, highly maintainable, and well-tested codebases.
· Infrastructure & Pipeline Design: Build reliable CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies that meet the rigorous standards required for medical software.
Required Qualifications
Education A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, mathematics, physics or related field.
Professional Experience
· 6 years of relevant experience in fast paced environments such as tech start-ups and/or scale-ups.
· Deep knowledge of Python (concurrency, parallelization, memory management, packaging, and ecosystem).
· Deep theoretical understanding of machine learning, including neural networks.
· Proven track record of deploying machine learning applications to both physical devices and AWS cloud infrastructure.
· Strong experience with writing clean code, unit testing, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
· Excellent communication skills with a passion for mentoring and collaborating with cross-disciplinary team members.
Preferred Qualifications
We would especially value candidates with experience in the following areas:
· Scientific publications in machine learning
· Basic understanding and experience processing EEG and/or SSEP data
· Experience developing software under medical device regulations (e.g., ISO 13485, IEC 62304) or data privacy standards (HIPAA/GDPR)
