Hosting Research Group

Over the past 20 years, the NEUROFAN Group (Neuropharmacology of addictions and degenerative disorders) has developed its translational research lines in addictions, focusing on the discovery of new biomarkers for addictive behavior and the cognitive impairment characteristic of drug abuse, such as alcohol. The group possesses all the necessary resources for the discovery of new targets and the preclinical development of pharmacological compounds, as demonstrated by the development of the MY10 compound for alcohol use disorders. It has participated in international consortia for the discovery of biomarker panels to differentiate between stages of cognitive impairment and various types of dementia (Nature Aging 2(11):1040-1053, 2022).
