ph3Purpose of Role /h3 pTo be a dynamic and enthusiastic primary teacher and be able to contribute to the development of schemes of work in the corresponding areas within our Primary Department. Effective planning and the delivery of stimulating and engaging lessons is paramount in order to clearly establish high standards for progress, encourage, and support pupils towards achieving their own individual goals. You should be a strong team player with a practical and versátil approach to problem solving and show a keenness to play a central role in the continuing development and improvement of our primary school. /p h3Job Description /h3 pTo be a dynamic and enthusiastic primary teacher and be able to contribute to the development of schemes of work in the corresponding areas within our Primary Department. You should be a strong team player with a practical and flexible approach to problem solving and show a keenness to play a central role in the continuing development and improvement of our primary school. /p h3Teaching Responsibilities /h3 ul liIdentifying clear teaching objectives and specifying how they will be taught and assessed; /li liSetting engaging tasks which challenge pupils and ensure high levels of interest; /li liEstablishing high expectations of all pupils; /li liProviding regular verbal and written feedback and setting clear targets, building on prior attainment and encouraging reflection to improve learning; /li liIdentifying SEN pupils (including high achievers) and ensuring their needs are met and that learning tasks are differentiated accordingly; /li liProviding clear structures for lessons by setting clear objectives and maintaining pace, motivation and challenge; /li liMaking effective use of assessment and ensure coverage of topics, yearly objectives and exam syllabi; /li liEnsuring teaching strategies are used to maximise the quality and quantity of learning which takes place in the classroom; /li liMonitoring and intervening to ensure effective learning and high standards of behaviour; /li liEnsuring pupils acquire new learning and are also given ample opportunities to consolidate knowledge, skills and understanding appropriate to the subject taught; /li liEvaluating your own teaching critically to improve effectiveness and encourage pupils to reflect and give feedback on their learning experience in each subject. /li /ul h3Monitoring, Assessment, Recording,



Reporting /h3 ul liAssess how well learning objectives have been achieved and use them to improve specific aspects of teaching; /li liRegularly review and correct pupils' work and set targets for progress; /li liAssess and record pupils' progress systematically and keep records to check work is understood and completed in order to monitor individual progress and inform future planning; /li liDevelop and apply clear criteria to when awarding grades and attainment levels to pupils; /li liCarefully prepare and record data to be included in pupil progress reports and to present to parents when required at formal parent consultations and in any other meetings arranged to address academic issues. /li /ul h3Pastoral Care and Safeguarding /h3 ul liEffectively attend to the pastoral needs of their allocated class group; /li liBe the first point of contact for parents, managing any concerns or issues raised in a timely manner; /li liMonitor the welfare and general well‑being of each member of the class; /li liCarry out termly reviews and set targets to improve progress; /li liAddress any pupil concerns raised by other teachers; /li liPromote the school values and encourage and ensure compliance to school rules; /li liAccurately record attendance and punctuality data and report any concerns to the Key Stage Leader/Head of Primary; /li liPrepare and deliver the PSHE curriculum as directed; /li liPlan and participate in class assemblies during the school year; /li liImmediately report any safeguarding concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead or a member of the safeguarding team via the school Myconcern platform. /li /ul h3Operational Responsibilities /h3 ul liAdhere to and promote all school and company policies and procedures, e.g. Behaviour for Learning, Anti‑bullying, Health Safety, Safeguarding, code of conduct etc.; /li liAdhere to the ISP Confidentiality Policy and the Data Protection Policy and familiarise yourself with the content to avoid any breaches of these policies.; /li liWork with fellow members of staff by sharing ideas on good practice.; /li liKeep up to date with developments in teaching practice and methodology.; /li liShare playground and lunchtime duties and responsibilities with other members of the team.; /li liParticipate in continued professional development.; /li liBe an active member of the school community to support its vision, school values and its dedication to constantly "getting better" and promoting amazing learning opportunities. /li /ul h3Skills, Qualifications and Experience /h3 ul liQualified Teacher Status (PGCE or BEd or equivalent); /li liExperience teaching in Primary stage; /li liDegree level education or an equivalent professional qualification; /li liFluent in English. /li /ul h3ISP Commitment to Safeguarding Principles /h3 pISP is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
