The ORTEC branch in Spain specializes in engineering services, maintenance engineering, integrated logistics support, supportability, reliability and maintainability engineering and technical translations.

Our team develops engineering studies for the creation, update or optimization of aircraft Maintenance Programs, using specific methodologies for different customers – major European aircraft manufacturers or vendors. The Linguistics Department is looking for freelance or staff technical translators specialized in translating documents from French to German (FR‑à‑GE) or vice versa, including aircraft maintenance manuals, industrial installation instructions, ground vehicle maintenance, and other technical documentation.

Job Description

- Analyze source documentation authored in French or German, in collaboration with our technical authors.
- Translate from French to German and from German to French.
- Manage translation memories in TRADOS Studio.




- Perform cross‑check processes in accordance with our Quality Assurance procedures.

Profile

- Studies in translation or interpretation.
- Experience translating technical texts from French and German (or other languages such as English or Spanish) into German, French, English, Spanish.
- Knowledge of the Simplified Technical English (STE) standard.
- Experience with maintenance manuals and/or real maintenance experience; general knowledge of systems, structures, operations, structural repairs, datasheets or other technical domains.
- Proficiency in translation memory software (TRADOS Studio XML/SGML) and authoring experience.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to focus on priorities and deliver on time to agreed standards.
- Service‑oriented attitude and excellent oral and written communication in the relevant languages.
- Strong team spirit.
