We are seeking a UAS Systems Engineer to support the definition, development, integration, and certification of our unmanned aircraft systems.
The idóneo candidate is an aerospace or mechanical engineer with experience in aircraft systems, requirements management, airworthiness, and multidisciplinary coordination. This person will act as a bridge between engineering disciplines, ensuring that system requirements, design solutions, certification activities, and regulatory compliance are aligned throughout the development lifecycle.
Responsibilities.
- Define, manage, and maintain system requirements for UAS platforms and subsystems.
- Support systems engineering activities, including requirements traceability, validation, and verification.
- Coordinate interfaces between avionics, structures, propulsion, fuel, electrical, and powertrain systems.
- Support operational risk and safety assessment, ensuring compliance with applicable aviation regulations (SORA).
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, requirements repositories, and compliance evidence.
- Participate in system integration, design reviews, risk assessments, and technical decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with Regulation, Engineering, Flight Operations, and external stakeholders.
- Support configuration management,
and change control activities.
Candidate Profile.
- Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience in Systems Engineering, Airworthiness, Certification, CAMO, DOA, Part 21, or similar aerospace environments.
- Knowledge of aircraft systems, including structures, avionics, electrical systems, fuel systems, propulsion, and powertrain integration.
- Experience managing technical requirements and documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Excellent communication and coordination capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications.
- Experience in UAS/UAV development programs.
- Previous experience in DOA, CAMO, Part 145, Part 21, or certification environments.
- Familiarity with requirements management tools (DOORS, Polarion, Jama, Jira, Confluence, or similar).
- Experience supporting system verification and validation activities.
- Knowledge of EASA regulatory frameworks applicable to UAS.
- Experience in aircraft modification projects and configuration management.
