Senior Data Engineer (Python / Data Applications)

What You'll Be Doing
Designing and building data-driven applications to support a live frontend
Working as part of full-stack teams alongside backend and frontend engineers
Applying software development best practices to the data world, including test coverage, design patterns and CI/CD
Using AI tooling effectively while maintaining ownership of correctness and technical design
Implementing effective metrics, monitoring and observability processes
Building reliable and scalable data solutions that support business-critical applications
Contributing to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the engineering team
What They're Looking For
3+ years of commercial experience writing production code as a Data Engineer or Backend Engineer using Python
Experience shipping tested,



reviewed code and taking ownership of technical quality
Strong debugging skills with the ability to reason about edge cases and complex problems
Moderate to proficient experience with data processing libraries and concepts
Strong SQL skills and understanding of database concepts
Understanding of database administration principles
Experience with DataOps methodologies, tools and processes
Comfortable working in collaborative, cross-functional engineering teams
Experience with Snowflake
Experience with DBT
Experience working with AI technologies including LLMs, skills and agents
Experience building RESTful APIs or event-driven applications
Experience in data warehouse development or database administration
General knowledge of Property & Casualty (P&C;) insurance
