Overview of the role
We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to join our growing aviation team. This role will support the design, planning, and delivery of airport related civil engineering projects, working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a developing engineer to gain hands‑on experience within Aviation.
Key responsibilities and duties include:
- Assisting in the design and development of civil engineering solutions for aviation projects
- Supporting the preparation of drawings, reports, and technical specifications
- Undertaking geometric and grading design of Runways, Taxiways, Aprons, service roads, etc
- Carrying out basic engineering calculations and analysis
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Assisting in the production of design documentation using tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar
- Supporting project delivery teams with site inspections and data collection
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards
- Take part in client meetings and internal design reviews
Candidate specificationEssential
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Understanding of civil engineering design principles
- Demonstrable experience within a Civil Engineering role
- Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn and develop within the aviation sector
Desirables
- Exposure to aviation or infrastructure projects
- An interest in progressing toward Chartered Engineer status (ICE or equivalent)
- Experience with modelling or analysis software
