In this role you drive enterprise AI platform operations at AstraZeneca, leading hands-on SRE activities and mentoring a team to deliver reliable, AI-enabled observability and automation. You will shape the platform estate on Azure and AWS, building AI-powered runbooks, incident analysis, and robust telemetry. Compensaciones / Ventajas
• Design, build, and maintain a central observability layer with dashboards, alerts, and telemetry pipelines (Datadog, New Relic, Grafana, Splunk)
• Architect and implement AI-augmented operations tooling (conversational runbooks, AI-driven incident analysis)
• Lead complex incident response, perform root-cause analysis, and produce post-mortems
• Contribute patches and instrumentation to product engineering codebases for root-cause remediation
• Contribute to vendor evaluations for suitable technologies and automation tooling
• Build and maintain automation powering the continuous improvement cycle; translate incidents into runbooks, automation, or patches




• Implement the Operational Readiness Gate and shape operability during development
• Mentor L1/L2 engineers and drive a culture of engineering-minded operations
• Collaborate with product engineering on post-mortems, handovers, and operational requirements
• Provide operational input to platform architecture reviews and communicate risks clearly
Responsabilidades
• BSc/MSc degree in Computer Science or related field
• Hands-on experience as an SRE or platform operations engineer at scale
• Strong expertise in observability platforms (Datadog, New Relic, Grafana, Splunk)
• Knowledge of OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, and xqbhyrx structured logging
• Proven automation design reducing toil; proficient in Python and Bash
• Cloud infrastructure experience (Azure and/or AWS); container orchestration, serverless, managed services
• Experience with post-mortems and translating findings into preventive engineering work
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development
