Role Overview

The Developer Advocate will engage the Elastic community, share best practices, and build technical content that showcases the Elastic Stack.
Responsibilities

Foster the Elastic Community in Europe (EMEA), with a local focus on Amsterdam.
Create technical content around the Elastic Stack such as code examples, talks, blog posts, videos, and demos.
Speak at virtual and in-person events like conferences, meetups, and lunch‑learn sessions in the Amsterdam area and throughout EMEA.
Answer technical questions on Discuss, Slack, developer forums, social media, and at events.
Review colleague’s content for technical accuracy.
Contribute to Elastic repositories or external ones to improve integration with Elastic technologies.




Help users be successful with Elastic’s stack, solutions, and cloud offerings.
Qualifications

Strong technical background and experience in an engineering role.
Demonstrated ability to create compelling technical content—including speaking, writing, and demoing.
Empathy for the community, resolving issues, and providing constructive feedback to improve products.
Comfortable working with a highly distributed team.
Experience in self‑organizing teams.
Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English.
Bonus Points

Familiarity with and passion for the Elastic Stack.
Proficiency in additional language(s) — speaking or programming (e.g., Golang, Python, Java, or Rust).
Production experience with complementary technologies such as Generative AI or Kubernetes.
Involvement in past Elastic Community events as speaker or organizer.
Experience with open source software or commercial
