SEO Specialist - Technical, Content & AI Search (GEO) ?

At Shakers, we are working with a leading digital organisation to bring on an SEO Specialist who covers the full discipline: content, technical, off-page and the emerging GEO / AI search space. Fully remote role with direct ownership of organic visibility across both traditional search and AI-generated answers.

The challenge
This is a hands-on role for someone who lives across the whole SEO stack, not just one corner of it. You will own on-page and content optimisation, run technical audits and push fixes with the dev team, support off-page and authority building, and lead on GEO: making content citable and discoverable inside ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Bing Copilot. You will work closely with content, product, UX and development, turning data from GSC, GA4 and crawlers into clear, prioritised recommendations. The interesting part is the AI search angle: this is a role where you get to define how the brand shows up as the search surface itself changes.

Responsibilities
Optimise title tags, meta descriptions, headings,



internal linking and Schema.org structured data.
Run technical audits (crawlability, indexability, site speed, Core Web Vitals, mobile usability) and coordinate fixes with development.
Manage XML sitemaps, robots.txt, hreflang, canonical tags and structured markup.
Support link prospecting, outreach and digital PR; audit the backlink profile and flag toxic links.
Optimise content for citation in AI-generated responses; refine entity and knowledge graph signals for AI discoverability.
Run prompt-based testing to see how AI engines retrieve and cite content.
Produce performance reports on rankings, organic traffic, Core Web Vitals and AI search visibility.

Requirements
2 to 4 years of hands-on SEO across content, technical and off-page.
Working command of GSC, GA4, Screaming Frog and Semrush or Ahrefs.
Practical experience with or demonstrated knowledge of GEO and AI search optimisation.
