ph3bJob Description Summary /b /h3 pAeroelastic Simulation Engineer role is responsible for wind turbine aero elastic simulations, encompassing New Product Development and Fleet Support as needed.br/You will perform state-of-the art simulations, in accordance to Design Practices and IEC guidelines.br/You will be responsible for loads execution and tools and methods development as needed. Preparation of certification documentation will be part of the role of the engineer.br/The vision of the team is to create robust yet cost-efficient wind turbine product designs by providing best-in-class load assessment, validation, methods and tools. #LI-ML2 /p h3bJob Description /b /h3 pbEssential Responsibilities /b /p ul liExecute mechanical loads analyses, controller tunings and trade-offs (loads, stability, operation and performance) for new products, cost out, design updates, and fleet support as needed. /li liPreparation of loads inputs, creation of the aeroelastic model, execute loads analysis and perform postprocessing is part of the design loop and therefore the responsibilities of the SVO engineer. /li liPerform basic operability checks and frequency domain stability checks. /li liUpdate loads envelopes /li liHand off model and controller to MLA team, to execute site specific assessments. /li liPerform feasibility studies and develop tech charts. /li liDeliver best-in-class loads mitigation and performance optimization technologies to lower Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) /li liIdentify and deliver on ideas for process simplification and tools automation /li liCultivate an atmosphere of team building and learning, driving new methods/ideas for loads and performance improvements /li liEffectively communicate to external customers regulators and cross-functionally to sales, product line,
and other GE businesses /li /ul pbRequired Qualifications /b /p ul liBachelor in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering /li li1 to 3 years of wind experience /li liExperience in aeroelastic loads simulations /li liKnowledge of best practices and how SVO team and System Simulations integrates with other technical areas /li /ul pbDesired Characteristics /b /p ul liMaster degree from an accredited university in Mechanical engineering, civil engineering or aerospace engineering /li liProven ability to work in a cross-functional and general environment /li liExcellent oral and written communication skills /li liWorking knowledge of aero-elastic simulation platforms: Bladed, HAWC2, Simpack, SDM /li liExperience inwind turbine control technologies, operability validation /li liExpert knowledge on wind turbine component design criteria /li /ul h3bAdditional Information /b /h3 pGE Vernova offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation.
