About the Role We are looking for a Turbomachinery Mechanical Designer in Barcelona to transform concepts into production‑ready CAD models and drawings for Pangea’s turbopumps and rocket engines. The role requires attention to detail, ownership, and collaboration with design, manufacturing, quality and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Create and maintain detailed 3D CAD models and complex assemblies for turbopump components.

Produce, review and release manufacturing drawings (2D) with GD&T;, surface finish, heat treatments, coatings and inspection requirements in accordance with ISO GPS / GD&T.;

Perform tolerance stack‑ups, fits/clearances, and interface control to ensure assembly feasibility and performance.

Provide DfM/DfA feedback and propose drawing or CAD changes to reduce cost and lead time.

Manage drawing maturity through the PLM release cycle (Teamcenter preferred).

Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing and quality to clarify requirements, answer RFIs and ensure drawings enable effective inspection (CMM, metrology).

Maintain and improve drawing practices, templates and checking routines; serve as drawing/GD&T; focal point for turbomachinery hardware.

What You Need To Be Successful

Technical degree (FP/TS or equivalent) or equivalent experience in mechanical design or industrial drafting.

5+ years of experience producing and releasing detailed drawings for precision mechanical parts (aerospace, turbomachinery, automotive, energy).

Advanced user of CAD (Siemens NX preferred) with strong skills in detail design, large assemblies and drawing production.





Comfortable with PLM/PDM tools (Teamcenter preferred) for revision control and release workflows.

Strong command of ISO GPS / GD&T;, datum systems and production‑ready drawing creation.

Ability to perform tolerance analyses and manage critical interfaces.

Good understanding of manufacturing processes and DfM/DfA best practices.

Working proficiency in English (Spanish and French are a plus).

Strong attention to detail, quality‑first mindset, and structured problem‑solving skills.

Autonomy in managing multiple parts and prioritising releases.

Clear communication and collaboration in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Other Desired Competencies

Formal training in GD&T; / ISO GPS, metrology or mechanical drafting.

Experience detailing rotating equipment or high‑precision components and working directly with machine shops or inspectors.

Specialized Expertise

Inspection and metrology experience (CMM, GD&T; interpretation, first article inspection).

Creation of assembly drawings, exploded views and clear work instructions for integration and test.

Understanding of fits for bearings/seals, run‑out/concentricity and balance requirements.

Knowledge of materials, heat treatments, coatings and surface finish specifications for high‑performance turbomachinery.

Experience with aerospace standards, configuration control and traceability for flight or test hardware.
