Pangea Propulsion

Barcelona

ph3About Pangea Propulsion /h3 pWe are a company dedicated to developing advanced propulsion systems for the space industry based on three key principles: high efficiency, sustainability, and reusability. We are revolutionizing the space industry with groundbreaking innovations that allow us to offer the best performance to cost propulsion systems. Our goal is to be the propulsion provider for the next generation of spacecraft, which are essential to meet the demands and compete in the booming space market of the next decade. We are a passionate, multicultural, and multidisciplinary team pushing the boundaries of what is possible in space propulsion technology. We have already made history by successfully testing the world’s first 3D printed Methalox Aerospike engine, marking a significant milestone for the space industry. We are looking for talented professionals to join our international teams in Barcelona and Toulouse. We want to be a key player in improving diversity in the Aerospace sector as, in Pangea, we believe that diversity (gender, age, race, sexual orientation, beliefs, disability, culture, etc.) is a key to success. Within Pangea, everyone can grow with the same opportunities. We encourage you to apply. Individually we are different, but together we are an amazing team! /p h3About your job /h3 pWe are seeking a skilled AIT Engineer to join our Systems team in Barcelona. As an AIT Engineer, you will be responsible for the layout, assembly and integration planning, interface definition, accessibility and maintainability planning, planning of ground handling operations, etc. of launch vehicle propulsion systems and in‑space chemical propulsion systems. You will work closely with the other teams at the company, such as the Mechanical Engineering Department and the rest of the Systems Department, as well as with the individual subsystem owners, to ensure that all relevant factors have been taken into account when it comes to the envisioned layout of the engine system, such as e.g. the effects on nearby components, the expected environment at the location, the accessibility of a certain components, the intended procedure for assembly and integration and the available facilities and support equipment to do so, the logistics of the transport of the subsystems and components, etc. You would also work very closely with the Operations department to lead the execution of assembly, integration, and test activities of the propulsion systems. In this regard you would work as a form of intermediate between the Engineering departments and Operations to translate the engineering designs and plans into executable procedures. This role requires good visualization and problem‑solving skills, and the ability to keep several competing requirements in your mind simultaneously and come up with a suitable compromise.

You would need to have relevant experience of AIT from the past. You would be working on all product lines being developed at Pangea Aerospace, including launch vehicle engines and in‑space propulsion systems, and you would also be working on multiple different projects relating to these products. You are expected to bring relevant knowledge into the company, and you would also be expected to be able to take independent decisions and define your own work to a degree. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liIdentify, review, and define the layout and interfaces between subsystems, e.g. flanged fluidic interfaces, brackets, quick‑releases, access ports, thermal interfaces, welded joints, etc., especially considering any constraints imposed by assembly, integration, and testing. /li liManage the interfaces between subsystems and creating and updating the relevant ICDs (Interface Control Documents). /li liPlan and document the assembly, integration, and test activities for the propulsion systems and subsystems throughout their life cycles. /li liIdentify and define the needed ground support equipment for AIT. /li liTranslate the high‑level AIT plans to detailed step‑by‑step assembly, integration, and test procedures to be used by the technicians in the Operations team. /li liWork with the Engineering and Operations teams to ensure safe and proper ground handling and test operations, such as e.g. assembly, integration, maintenance, propellant filling, passivation, etc. /li liSupport system and subsystem VV. /li liLead assembly, integration, and testing activities of propulsion systems, including troubleshooting and resolving issues on‑the‑fly, as well as stringent quality control and logging of each step, to ensure test and/or flight readiness. /li liCollaborate with launch operations teams to ensure seamless vehicle integration and pre‑flight testing. /li liMaintain detailed documentation of the assembly, integration, and test results for regulatory and internal review. /li liSupport the design and manufacturing teams in transitioning propulsion components from development to production. /li liEnsure compliance with applicable standards and regulations. /li /ul h3What you need to be successful /h3 ul liBachelor's or master's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field. /li li2+ years of experience in assembly, integration, and testing within the field of aeronautics or aerospace. /li liProficiency with CAD tools,
