Innovation Consultant (EU Projects)

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Innovation Consultant to join our team. You will be a key member of our dynamic team of engineers, PhDs, and investment managers in Madrid, contributing directly to our success in securing funding for groundbreaking projects. In this role, you will take the lead in structuring and writing compelling grant proposals for European funding programs like Horizon Europe. You will be responsible for managing the entire proposal lifecycle, from initial client engagement to final submission, for a portfolio of deep‑tech startups and research institutions.

Responsibilities

- Lead the end‑to‑end preparation of high‑quality grant proposals for EU funding programs (mainly Horizon Europe, Eureka Eurostars, etc.), ensuring strategic alignment and compliance.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, guiding them through the proposal development process and building strong, lasting relationships.
- Conduct in‑depth analysis of the technical, commercial, and financial viability of innovative projects to build a robust business case.
- Collaborate closely with internal experts and external partners to craft a cohesive and persuasive project narrative.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of proposals, identifying key value propositions and innovation angles to maximize success rates.
- Mentor junior team members and share best practices in proposal writing and project management

Desired Background

- Able to work legally in Europe.




- 2-5 years of direct experience in an innovation consultancy role with a proven track record of writing successful proposals for EU Framework Programs (Horizon Europe, H2020, EIC, etc.).
- A Master’s degree or PhD in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
- C1+ level English (written and spoken) is mandatory. Proficiency in other European languages is an advantage.
