Position

First Stage Researcher (R1) – Master Level, Permanent, Full‑time (35 hours per week). Contract start: 1 November. Funding derived from the internal project “Collaboration Agreement between the Regional Ministry of Culture, Education, Vocational Training and Universities and the Universities of A Coruña, Santiago de Compostela and Vigo for the Strengthening of Knowledge Transfer and Innovation Management Staff”.

Job Overview

The role is based at the Centre for Information and Communication Technologies Research (CITIC), CITIC is a member of the CIGUS Network and focuses on AI, Data Science, High‑Performance Computing, Smart Services, Cybersecurity and other digital technologies.

Responsibilities

-

- Identify, analyze and monitor European and international funding opportunities in research, innovation, knowledge transfer and technological development.

- Prepare and submit project proposals, including analysis of call eligibility, drafting, structuring and reviewing proposal documentation, and ensuring deadlines are met.

- Provide technical, administrative and financial management of international projects, including expense processing, travel arrangements, procurement, contract management and administrative file monitoring.

- Promote and strengthen collaboration with universities, research centres, European platforms and other international stakeholders in the field of Research, Development and Innovation (R&D;&I;).





- Organize and participate in workshops, meetings, study visits, events and information days to foster internationalization and enhance the centre’s profile.

- Maintain systems for monitoring funding opportunities, proposals and funded projects, and prepare reporting to support strategic planning and decision‑making.

- Develop and implement the centre’s internationalization strategy in line with its strategic planning, focusing on attracting competitive funding, participating in international networks and increasing visibility.

- Review and improve internal procedures related to funding identification, proposal preparation, project management and optimisation of research support processes.

Required Qualifications

-

- Master’s degree in International Relations, International Studies, European Studies, EU Studies, Law, Political Science, Public Administration, Project Management or an equivalent or closely related field officially recognised in Spain.

- Proficiency in English at C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR); proof must be provided via an official certificate.

Additional Eligibility Requirements

- The contract may be financed in whole or part by other grants assigned to the relevant Research Line, provided sufficient funding is available. xqbhyrx

- Right to terminate the contract if the funding allocated to the Research Line is exhausted or the position’s duties are completed without redeployment.
