We’re looking for an experienced

COBOL Developer

to join InnoIT and collaborate with one of our international clients in the

insurance sector .

This role is idóneo for someone with a strong background in

legacy environments

who is also interested in using

modern AI tools

such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot to improve development, maintenance, and modernization processes for core business applications.

You’ll work on critical systems in an international environment, contributing to digital transformation initiatives and helping improve the efficiency, quality, and sustainability of key insurance platforms.

What you’ll be working on... Developing, maintaining, and optimizing

COBOL applications Analyzing and resolving incidents in

legacy systems Participating in

modernization and technology migration projects Using

AI tools

such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot for: Code generation and refactoring Automated documentation Impact analysis Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including

QA, business, and architecture Driving continuous improvement in development processes and code quality

What we’re looking for... Strong experience with

COBOL

( 3-5+ years ) Solid experience in

mainframe environments

such as

z/OS, JCL, CICS, and DB2 Experience maintaining

critical legacy systems Knowledge of

relational databases Experience with, or strong interest in,

AI tools for software development Technical English level B2 or higher

Nice to have... Experience in the

insurance

or

banking

sector Knowledge of

modernization approaches , such as





microservices

and

APIs Familiarity with

Agile methodologies

such as Scrum or Kanban Experience integrating

AI into software development workflows
