The Role

This is a customer facing engineering role. You will use the platform to build custom small language models for customers, then own the delivery end to end from understanding the problem through to a deployed model in production.

This is more than delivering to a spec. Because the team is small, you will work directly with each customer, build trust, understand what they actually need and push the project through to completion. It is not about building the model and handing over a hot potato.

It is not a sales role. You would not typically join early sales calls unless you want to. But once a customer is on board, the relationship and the delivery are yours.

What you will work on

- Build task specific language models for customers using the platform
- Work with customers to understand their problem and shape it into a working solution
- Manage model delivery through to production deployment




- Own customer relationships and build trust over the life of a project
- Deliver what the customer actually needs rather than only what was scoped at the start
- Feed what you learn from customers back into the product and science teams

- A working knowledge of machine learning, you have trained a model yourself at some point and know what is going on under the hood
- Genuine excitement about working closely with customers and understanding their problems deeply
- Ability to manage a project and a relationship through to completion
- Fluent English, it is the working language across the team and customer base
- Comfortable as an individual contributor in a small, fast moving team

Seniority

The team is versátil here, which is why the band is broad. You might have a couple of years of experience and real hunger for customer work, or many more years and deep delivery experience. The one thing to know is that this is an IC position, not a role to build a team around in the short term.
