Description
We are seeking an experienced Associate Director of Finance to lead the financial operations of our Spanish entities based in Madrid. This role will oversee local accounting, financial reporting, and finance administration while ensuring full compliance with Spanish GAAP (Plan General Contable – PGC), local tax regulations, and regulatory reporting requirements under IFRS for group consolidation.
The role will be responsible for managing the full accounting cycle, including month-end and quarter-end close, financial reporting to corporate headquarters in Toronto, AP/AR oversight, vendor and service provider management, and financial planning coordination with department leaders and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). This role will report directly to the Group CFO.
This position will also manage the local Finance & Administration team in Spain and serve as the subject matter expert for ERP systems, accounting processes, and financial controls, supporting ongoing improvements in financial reporting, systems, and operational efficiency.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Leadership & Local Finance Management
- Lead and manage the Finance and Administration function in Spain, including oversight of accounting operations and local finance staff.
- Act as the primary finance lead for Spanish entities, ensuring compliance with Spanish GAAP (PGC), tax regulations, and statutory reporting obligations.
- Serve as the main liaison with Corporate Finance in Toronto, ensuring timely reporting, alignment with group policies, and support for consolidated reporting.
