Freelance HR Benefits & Retirement Specialist | 6-Month Assignment | Brussels

Are you an experienced HR professional with a strong background in employee benefits, pensions or HR operations? Are you looking for a challenging freelance assignment where you can combine operational excellence with advisory responsibilities?

For one of our clients, we are looking for a Freelance HR Benefits & Retirement Specialist to support the HR team during a 6-month mission.

In this role, you will become the go-to expert for all matters related to employee benefits, retirement and disability insurance. You will work closely with HR, Payroll and external partners to ensure employees receive accurate guidance while contributing to the continuous improvement of HR processes.

What you'll be doing

- Advise employees on pension plans, employee benefits and insurance-related topics.
- Coordinate disability and long-term absence cases with internal stakeholders and external insurance partners.
- Support employees throughout the retirement journey by providing guidance, simulations and administrative follow-up.
- Partner with Payroll, HR Business Partners, insurers and brokers to ensure smooth and compliant processes.
- Maintain accurate documentation and oversee the administrative management of employee benefit cases.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, documentation and employee communications.




- Contribute to projects aimed at enhancing the employee experience and optimising HR operations.

What we're looking for

You are an experienced HR specialist who enjoys combining operational work with advisory responsibilities.

Ideally, you bring:

- 7+ years of experience in HR Operations, Employee Benefits, Payroll, Compensation & Benefits or Pension Administration.
- A good understanding of Belgian social legislation relating to employee benefits, pensions or long-term absence.
- Experience working with insurance companies, brokers or pension providers.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage confidential information with accuracy and discretion.
- A continuous improvement mindset and an interest in process optimisation and digital HR solutions.
- Solid Excel skills and experience working with HRIS systems.
- Fluency in Dutch or French, with a good working knowledge of the other national language. English is a plus.
