Mechanical Technician | Manufacturing Sector | Belgium

An established manufacturing operation in Belgium is looking for an experienced Mechanical Technician to join its maintenance team.

The role is responsible for maintaining production equipment and supporting plant reliability through preventative maintenance, fault-finding, and effective mechanical repairs. It would suit a practical, technically capable professional with solid experience in a manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities:

- Perform preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance on manufacturing plant and production equipment.
- Maintain auxiliary systems, including compressed air, dust extraction, fire protection, and thermal oil systems.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and complete repairs to minimise production downtime.
- Record maintenance activities and manage work orders using SAP and other digital maintenance systems.
- Read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic and construction drawings.
- Support equipment improvements and broader maintenance and reliability initiatives.
- Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with safety, quality, and operational standards.

Experience and qualifications:

- A technical qualification in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.




- At least five years’ mechanical maintenance experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Practical experience with welding, grinding, drilling, hydraulic equipment, bearings, and conventional mechanical tools.
- Basic electrical and pneumatic knowledge.
- The ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive and safety-conscious approach to maintenance.
