Role: Mainframe Solution Architect

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Solution Architect to design robust application solutions for a capital markets or investment banking environment. You will translate business requirements into high-level and detailed application designs while collaborating with stakeholders across the full delivery lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

- Translate business requirements into high-level solution designs and detailed application designs.
- Design mainframe applications using PL/I, JCL, DB2, SQL, and CICS.
- Provide hands-on solution architecture expertise throughout development projects.
- Collaborate closely with application owners, business analysts, developers, testers, and operations teams.
- Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex technical and business challenges.
- Contribute effectively within an Agile delivery environment.
- Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders across general teams.




- Learn and apply new technologies and delivery methodologies as required.

Qualifications:

- 8–10 years of relevant professional experience.
- Hands-on experience working as a Solution Architect.
- Strong knowledge of mainframe concepts and technologies, including PL/I, JCL, DB2, SQL, and CICS.
- Proven experience creating high-level and detailed application designs from business requirements.
- Experience with IBM System Z and mainframe DB2 environments.
- Domain knowledge of capital markets or investment banking.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Experience working in Agile and globally distributed environments.
- Ability to learn new technologies and methodologies quickly.

Work Arrangement and Location:

This is a six-month hybrid assignment based in Brussels, Belgium, with an anticipated start date of 30 September 2026.
