This opportunity is ideally suited to experienced accounting professionals and Chief Accountant profiles with a strong technical accounting background and hands-on expertise across accounting operations, reporting and tax matters.

To qualify for this opportunity, your profile must include strong technical accounting expertise in Belgian GAAP, knowledge of IFRS reporting standards and SAP key user proven experience in:

- General accounting and reporting;
- Inventory valuation and accounting;
- Supervision of subsidiary accounts and consolidation across multiple legal entities.

☑️ The permanent position

Head of Accounting & Reporting, Belgium (M/W)

Direct report to the company CFO

Direct report to the CFO, working in matrix cooperation with IT, Operations, Procurement

Supervision of external auditors and tax advisors.

Acting as a hands ‘on accounting leader and trustful partner to the CFO, your main responsibilities include:

- Lead the Accounting, Tax and Reporting team:



including local team members and activities coordinated with a shared service center.
- Prepare the quarterly accounting reports for the Group consolidation, including the various subsidiaries within the scope, within the Group timely closing process
- Regularly assess the company inventories and fixed assets: organise, reconcilable and evaluate the company’s inventories in different locations, update the fixed assets values.
- Supervise tax-related accounting activities, including VAT, corporate income tax support, regulatory reporting and sector-specific indirect tax matters.
- Oversee the accounting & reporting of subsidiaries to ensure their consistency and reliability with the Group standard, in order to prepare the consolidated accounts.
- Support the accounting teams in various technical topics such as SAP Key user in SAP/FI, SAP/MM, provide accounting expertise
- Contribute to ERP optimization, internal controls initiatives and deadline respects, with a leadership discipline on internal controls, SX and continuous improvement initiatives

This position being a key experienced accounting role, ✅you will be a “doer” acting as a real process owner to ensure reliability, compliance and quality for both Belgium and Group standards.

☑️ Your key skills & profile

Profile hard skills

At least 15 years of relevant accounting experience, including senior responsibility in a large-scale organization.

Master in accounting or Chartered Accountant degree with a strong background in technical accounting and statutory reporting.

Experience in Tax and Group Reporting with turnover above 1b€

Belgian GAAP and IFRS experience

SAP FI, SAP MM key-user level or strong ERP exposure.

Profile soft skills

Must have Dutch native or fluency practice, French and English.

Team leader with a positive and contribution attitude

Analytical mindset, highly reliability and rigorous, deadlines focused

Communication capacities
