VHIR offers a position for a Postdoctoral Researcher
within the Laboratory-JI/Cardiovascular Diseases Research Group.
Education and qualifications: Required: Postdoctoral researcher
with a BSc in Biology or Biotechnology (minimum grade 7.5) Master’s
degree and at least 3 years of laboratory-based experience Fluency
in Catalan, Spanish and English Desired: Completed Master’s degree
in Translational Medicine Knowledge of statistics and experience
with software such as GraphPad, R Experience and knowledge:
Required: Minimum of 3 years of experience in metabolism research
Prior specialization in basic research projects in Cardiology. The
following consolidated experience is required: Techniques for
characterizing cardiac remodeling and heart failure in experimental
models Maintenance and management of transgenic mouse colonies
Metabolomic analysis using stable and radioactive isotopes
Isolation of cardiomyocytes and fibroblasts from murine hearts Cell
culture of established cell lines (HL-1, H9c2) and primary cultures
of cardiomyocytes and fibroblasts Recruitment and collection of
patient samples Studies of intracellular calcium dynamics using
confocal microscopy Experience in scientific writing and publishing
Main responsibilities and duties: Maintain and manage existing
transgenic mouse colonies. Analyze adverse cardiac remodeling,
including hypertrophy, fibrosis, and inflammation, and assess
cardiac function in mouse models of heart failure using: Molecular
biology techniques (RNA/protein extraction, RT-PCR, Western blot,
immunofluorescence). Histology. Isolation and culture of
cardiomyocytes and fibroblasts. Intracellular calcium imaging by
confocal microscopy. Design and conduct metabolomic studies,
including uptake assays and stable isotope dynamics. Prepare
abstracts for scientific conferences and manuscripts for
publication. Labour conditions: Full-time position: 40h/week
Starting date: immediate Gross annual salary: 24.785 euros (Salary
ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
